I promise you, I cannot make this stuff up.
So I am basking in the afterglow of a beautiful weekend, still in the bed at 11am and my phone rings. It is one of my partners calling to tell me we are having an affair!
I sit up, put the phone on speaker and start laughing and say,
“If we are having an affair, there is some work you need to put in and an beat down you are getting ready to get”.
Now, I must say that I am surprised because I have never entertained this man out of our business dealings.
Not once, has he ever said, did, insinuated or suggested anything inappropriate.
He is a gentleman when we meet. He opens the door. Pull out the chairs. Picks up the check. That is what he does but why does that suggest impropriety?
Maybe in the wake of #metoo this is deemed as inappropriate behavior.
I am a big girl. I will not let anyone do anything or say anything that is inappropriate to me, neither will I ever allow anyone to mishandle me.
I got this.
Some women do not like what we call “girl friend” treatment in the business sector and I get it. People are to respect your boundaries and comfort level and navigate inside of those parameters when dealing with you.
However; I am a girly girl woman. I have no problem with attention. None at all. Doesn’t make me feel marginalized or victimized, in fact it makes me feel very powerful. But, hey, that is just me.
A beautiful woman and an attractive man just have to have something going on besides what they say is going on?
Grow up people.
It is possible for beautiful people to be social without ending up in the bed. It is possible for a man to do business with a beautiful woman and not cross the line. It is possible for people to enjoy each the gift of their humanity without there being a side agenda.
Well at least it is possible for those who do not have a side agenda.
People usually accuse others of what they are guilty of.
Get over the foolishness because ugly is not in my gene pool and I have plenty to do…and there are men I am doing it with.
I just wanted to put that out there.
Now, I am going back to what I was doing before my phone rang with foolishness.
