Gratitude is defined as the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.
We all have an abundance of things in our lives to be thankful for. Oftentimes, what we should be grateful for is lost and neglected because we are always wanting more. We want a bigger house. A bigger car. A better paying job.
We want to vacation out of the country, jet ski across the Atlantic and wear diamonds and pearls. All of those things are fine and living in the realm of auspicious favor is living beyond our wildest dreams and our imaginations.
However, we believe one of the keys to getting there is unlocking graciousness in our lives. Celebrate the small house as we prepare for the big house. Appreciate the weekends at home as we flip through travel magazines and save for the trip across the world. Sip wine and eat crackers in front of our fireplaces as we dream about eating caviar and drinking champagne.
Honor the car that starts and gets you from point A to point B as you test drive the Bentley. By all means dream and dream BIG and believe God will grant you the desires of your heart as you do the work to prepare to have what you say you want.
A great tool to help get the gratitude juices flow is labeling a simple jar and every day writing down something you ARE grateful for right now in your life.
It is very easy to do, and once you get into the habit of doing this everyday you will see how much joy being grateful produces in your life. Celebrate what you have while you anticipate and prepare for what is to come. You can do both, should do both.
