“I’m over feeling captive to a wig, weave, people, people’s comments & opinions hell…even my OWN feelings! WE can choose to stop these things from having the power and victory over us!! And for me, that starts TODAY”. Tamar Braxton
Hair in western culture is a BIG thing. The hair industry is a billion dollar industry and that is a testament to the fact that we spend a lot of our time and resources fussing over our hair.
Silly men even stroke in, with their brush painting their ideal pictures of women and what we should look and how we should wear our hair. The mitigated gaul of some negro, whitegro or any other gro to determine in their finite minds, limited imaginations and starved egos what we should look like and how we should be!
I am so sick of it and I mean sick of it!
All of our lives we are told how we should act and be and who we should become. There are thousands of articles and books on how to be the perfect woman, mother, wife, girlfriend, side chic and side chic to the side chic.
MEN get over yourself and concentrate YOUR efforts on being your best self and leave women the hell alone.
There is only one woman on the face of the earth that you need to be concerned with and that is the one who is married to you. If she allows you tell her how to be, what to do, what to say, how to dress and how to wear her hair, that is between ya’ll. Please do not burden the rest of us with your nonsense.
As for the rest of us, the free women of the world, let us have the courage to continue to identify ourselves the way we want to. On our terms.
Let us bare the standard of beauty we desire.
Let us develop and hold fast to our personal tenants of freedom, power and liberty.
And for the men of the world who always got something to say and do not like it,
Point to the area of your body they can 😘.
